Some impressions of Humperdinck’s opera „Hänsel und Gretel“ in Hernerpark on the banks of Lake Zürich, where I sang the role of the Mother.

Despite temperatures of 33° Celsius the performance was well attended and a great success, with the advantage that guests and cast were able to cool off in Lake Zürich afterwards!

Thanks go to our lovely cast: Stephanie Ritz as Gretel, Jessica Poppe as Hänsel, the incomparable Carl Hieger as the Witch, children’s choir of the MKZ Zürich, our musical director Mikhail Berlin who was playing an arrangement by Andrew Dunscombe.

The beautiful stage and set were designed by Lottie Horsman; overall organisation was by Susanne Mathys and Stephan Bischof.
